Add the weight of the heaviest thing you will haul to the empty weight of the trailer, then add a margin of at least fifteen percent. That total should sit under the trailer GVWR. If you are close to the limit, size up. Running a trailer at its maximum every day wears everything out faster.

Low-pro trailers sit closer to the ground, which makes loading easier and lowers the centre of gravity. Standard height trailers give more ground clearance for rough sites. For most contractors hauling dirt, gravel or debris, low-pro is the better daily choice.

Steel is cheaper, easier to repair and takes abuse better. Aluminium is lighter, which either raises your payload within the same GVWR or reduces strain on your tow vehicle, and it will not rust. If you are close to your truck limits or hauling near salt water, aluminium earns its premium.

Goosenecks tow more stably, turn tighter and carry more weight because the load sits over the rear axle. They need a bed-mounted hitch. Bumper pulls are simpler and work with any properly rated receiver. Above roughly 14,000 lbs GVWR, gooseneck is usually the better answer.

Almost certainly. Most states require brakes above 3,000 lbs gross, and every trailer we sell in the working weight classes has them. You will also need a brake controller in your tow vehicle.

Check your vehicle payload and towing capacity, not just the tow rating. Tongue weight lands on your rear axle, so payload is often the real limit. If you tell us your vehicle we will tell you honestly whether it is enough.

Local pickup is usually available within a day or two of cleared payment. Regional delivery typically runs three to seven business days, and long-haul transport one to three weeks depending on the lane.

Grease the hubs and check bearing play at the interval in your manual, re-torque the lug nuts after the first fifty miles and then periodically, inspect brake function and lights before every trip, and wash road salt off over winter. Skipping the first two is what kills most trailers early.
